UK Completes the Long Awaited Brexit

Brexit Completed by United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has formally completed Brexit more than 3 years after it completed the referendum vote to bid bye to the Union. The historic moment that concluded at 23:00 GMT was accepted with both celebrations and anti-Brexit protests.

Candlelit vigils were held by Scotlanders which voted to stay in European parliament while Brexiteers in London conducted celebrations in London’s Parliament Square. Boris Johnson has pledged to bring the nation together after achieving the exit milestone. A message released by Prime minister office on social media an hour before the Kingdom’s official departure, read: “For many people this is an astonishing moment of hope, a moment they thought would never come.”

“And there are many of course who feel a sense of anxiety and loss.”

He said that some fancied the outcome of the Brexit as disastrous and that the political wrangle would not end but it was his job to take the nation forward after the decision.Brexit Completed by United Kingdom

Parties were thrown in pubs and social clubs across United Kingdom from the count down to the official exit. People in favor of the departure gathered in Parliament Square to celebrate Brexit as they san patriotic anthems and made speeches in the appreciation of the decision.

Nigel Farage addressing the crowd said: “Let us celebrate tonight as we have never done before.

“This is the greatest moment in the modern history of our great nation.”

Pro-Eu gatherers earlier organized a march in Whitehall to bid a “fond farewell” to the Union as anti-Brexit rallies and candlelit vigils appeared in Scotland. Police arrested four men and held one accountable for the criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly while one arrest was recorded in Glasgow.

Meanwhile, the symbolic moments were seen with mixed emotions in and out of the Kingdom as the Union flag being removed from the Union headquarters and different offices of the Parliament in Brussels. The cabinet meeting was held in Sunderland, the first city that proclaimed the Brexit success vote results in 2016. A 50p coin was also released to mark the occasion. The building of the Kingdom’s government changed its name and sign on the EU office as it replaced the word representation with mission.
